DORIS MABEL COSTILL – Obituary

Doris Mabel Costill (nee McComas) on Saturday, September 8, 2018.  Age 93.  Wife of the late Harry J. Costill.  Mother of Susan E. (Robert D.) Smith of Middle River, MD; David (Debbie K.) Costill of Avon, CT; and Douglas (Connie W.) Costill of Sewell, NJ.  Grandmother of six, and Great-grandmother of four.  Daughter of the late Clarence B. and Anna Elizabeth (nee Klug) McComas.

Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Doris was a 60 year resident of Vineland and later a 5 year resident of Middle River, MD before moving to Pitman 2 ½ years ago.  She was a graduate of Eastern High School in Baltimore and worked for 20+ years as the secretary at the First United Methodist Church of Vineland before retiring in the early 1980s.  Doris loved sailing with her husband Harry on the 31-foot sailboat that he built.  They sailed on the Chesapeake Bay and the 1,700 mile trip up and down the intra-coastal waterway to winter in Florida for many years.  Doris loved flowers and gardening and took a great deal of pride in the gardens at the family home on Boody Drive in Vineland.
