Donna Maria Matlock (nee Moss) on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Age 73. Companion of Charles Walker. Wife of 35 years to the late James Matlock. Mother of the late Steven Michael Moss. Daughter of Henry A. “Hank” Moss and Edna Lorraine (nee Gormley) Moss. Sister of Edna L “Lori” Moss-Caldwell, the late Henry A. “Skip” Moss, Jr., and the late Linda D. Moss. Half-sister of Rosemarie Janus and Joseph Elias. Sister-in-law of Joanne T. Moss. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Born in Philadelphia where she was raised for 6 1/2 years. Donna lived in Maple Shade until age 12 before moving to Clayton where she attended Clayton High School. She has been a resident of Upper Pittsgrove for the past 40 years. During high school, Donna started working at Nan King Chinese in Glassboro and later worked for 3 years at Fields Department Store in Mantua. She was a bartender at the Pine Tavern in Upper Pittsgrove for 30 plus years.
Donna enjoyed candle-making, liked decorating, and was an excellent cook. She loved to sing and dance, was always concerned with helping people, and was an excellent self-taught hairdresser. Donna met Charlie while attending bible study at Faith Fellowship. She loved taking care of cats, and eventually, people started dropping off feral cats to her. The females were always spayed, and Donna only used homeopathic treatments to care for them. At one point in time, she had 70 + feral cats that she cared for. Donna also ran a “cat board” with over 50,000 people,
