Delsea Girls basketball had 3 games of their own this week. On Tuesday, January 7th they played Pitman and won 60-23. Senior Kamille Morton led with 15 points and Junior Lexi Harkins added 10 of her own. Junior Peyton Gilmore didn’t lead the team in points but played great defense racking up the steals and assists to set up her teammates. Delsea played great defense and rolled through Pitman to start the week off right.
On Thursday, January 9th they played conference opponent Highland Tartans. The Delsea Crusaders snuck past Highland 38-32 to move to 5-4 on the year. Morton led with another 15 points and Junior Peyton Gilmore added 12 points of her own. Delsea didn’t shoot the lights out but once again played good defense and took advantage of their opportunities.
On Saturday they played Haddonfield and were outmatched on all cylinders. Haddonfield won 48-17. Morton had a game high 8 in a tough loss after a very good week where they went 2-1.
