Delsea boys basketball came into this week with a record of 16-8 on the season and had two remaining regular season games left. On Tuesday, February 25th the Crusaders squared up against the Pitman Panthers and won 54-44 moving to 17-8 on the season. The Crusaders were led by Jerry Surrency who had 13 points and six rebounds. Tristan Cornish and Trey Simmons each had 11 points. The Crusaders extended their win streak to three games and had one game left on the season.
On Thursday, February 27th Delsea looked to wrap up the regular season with a win against Glassboro. It was also Delsea’s senior night and they crushed the Bulldogs 63-45. Tristian Cornish and Jerry Surrency, Delsea’s two seniors went off on their big night. Cornish had 20 points and 11 rebounds while Surrency had 17 points and five rebounds. Tyler Bey also had 11 points, four blocks and five steals for the Crusaders. Delsea played very good defense racking up seven blocks and twelve steals on the night. The Crusaders closed out their season with a 4-game win streak and a final record of 18-8. It was a great way for the Crusaders to end their season heading into the playoffs on Monday, March 2nd against Seneca.
Delsea Girls Basketball

Delsea girls basketball came into this week with a record of 12-12. On Tuesday, 2/25, they traveled to Gloucester Catholic to play the Rams. They dropped a tough one 61-51 to Gloucester Catholic to fall under .500 on the season. Peyton Gilmore went off for the Crusaders with 22 points and four rebounds. Kamille Morton also added 15 for the Crusaders but it wasn’t enough to get the win. Zohei Travis also added ten points of her own in the Crusaders loss. Gloucester Catholic shot extremely well and Delsea couldn’t knock down shots which led to a lot of trouble on the offensive end for the Crusaders.
Delsea wrapped up their season on Thursday 2/27 against Woodstown. It was the girls senior night, Seniors Kamille Morton, Lexi Kelly, and Erin Collins. The Crusaders lost to Woodstown 41-29 at home to end the regular season. Peyton Gilmore had ten points, Kamille Morton had nine points including two 3-pointers. Zohei Travis and Tori Kanuck also added five points in the loss. Delsea was a .500 team all season but in the last week dropped to 12-14 to finish the season. The Crusaders look to move past the two losses to end the season and look forward to Monday’s (3/2) playoff game against Winslow.
