Delsea Boys Basketball came into the week with a record of 7-3 and were trying to start a streak of wins after a tough loss in their previous game to Shawnee. On Tuesday, January 21st they played Hammonton and started the week off with a 71-56 win. Delsea’s Trey Simmons lead Delsea with 23 points, six steals, and three assists. Tristian Cornish had eleven points and nine rebounds, Tyler Bey had eleven and a game high twelve rebounds. Delsea moved to (8-3) on the season and were looking to their next game against Clearview. On Thursday January 23rd, Delsea played Clearview and dropped a tough one 54-53. Delsea led by 13 going into the 4th quarter, Clearview fought back and took the lead late to go up by one. Delsea had eleven seconds to score and got a good look in the corner but could not get it done. It was another tough loss leading going into the 4th quarter. Trey Simmons led Delsea with 14 points and seven rebounds; Jerry Surrency had 13 points, Jimmy Reilly had nine points and four rebounds. Tyler Bey and Tristian Cornish each had seven points. Delsea dropped to (8-4) and played their next game on Saturday against Eastern. On Saturday January 25th, Delsea played in the Jeff Coney Classic at Rancocas Valley HS against Eastern. Delsea lost 69-46 to a very good Eastern team. Trey Simmons led Delsea with 15 points, Jerry Surrency had ten, and Jimmy Reilly had seven of his own. Delsea now dropped to 8-5 on the season and was looking ahead to next week.
