Delsea Boys Basketball came into this week with a record of 4-1 and on the heels of back to back wins against Vineland and Millville. This was a big week for the team with three home games ahead. On Monday, January 7th they beat Salem 76-52, Delsea Senior Jerry Surrency lead the charge with 22 points and 6 steals. Sophomore Trey Simmons put up 15, along with 14 from Junior big man Brandon Falls. Delsea had contributions from their bench as well, Sophomore Cole Parks and Tyler Bey each had 7 points off the bench. On Thursday, January 9th Delsea played Highland. Delsea now with three straight wins and looking to make it four had a tough task ahead. Delsea indeed made it four straight wins with a 66-57 win over the Tartans. Senior Tristan Cornish lead the Crusaders with 22 points and three 3 pointers. Trey Simmons added 15 and Jerry Surrency added 14. Delsea improved to a record of 5-1. Delsea was back on the hardwood the next night against Rancocas Valley. Delsea played a tough game against a very athletic and good shooting Rancocas team. Rancocas snuck by Delsea 70-66 in a very tough week. Jerry Surrency lead Delsea with 20 points and Junior Jimmy Reilly added 15 points and 6 rebounds. Delsea went 2-1 this week as they look to bounce back Monday (1/13) at Triton (7PM).
