DELSEA BASKETBALL SPORTS WRAP-UP

Delsea Boys basketball team came into the week with a record of 12-7 on the season and played two games this week. On Tuesday (2/11) they played against Triton and won 66-54 at home against the Mustangs. Trey Simmons led Delsea with 20 points, three rebounds, and four assists. Tristan Cornish had 17 points of his own and six rebounds. Jerry Surrency also added 12 points and four steals on the defensive end. On Thursday (2/13), Delsea traveled to play Williamstown in a big rival game. Delsea cruised past the Braves 64-44 on their way to (14-7) on the season. Jerry Surrency led for the Crusaders with a season high 28 points and four rebounds. Surrency had the hot hand for Delsea and was letting it fly against the Braves. Tristan Cornish and Trey Simmons each had ten points. Cornish also added a game and career high 17 rebounds for the Crusaders. Delsea looks to keep their two-game win streak moving into the coming weeks.

Delsea Girls basketball team came into the week with a record of 10-9 on the season and had two games this week as well. On Tuesday (2/11) they played Triton and won 42-36. Kamille Morton led the Crusaders with 13 points and Tori Kanuck also added 12 points of her own to help the Crusaders move past Triton. On Thursday they traveled to play Williamstown before the boys game. Things went the opposite way for the girls who lost to the Braves 60-35. Morton led the way again for the Crusaders with 12 points and freshmen Alli Sieminski, Emma Afflerbach, and Emily Ambrose all had six points for the Crusaders. The girls dropped to 11-10 on the season but were still a game above .500.
