DEER CAUSES FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT

On Sunday, November 6th, Franklin Township Police officers arrived on the scene around 5:14 p.m. of a motor vehicle crash on Delsea Drive just north of Malaga Terrace near the Vineland border. Upon arrival, a white KIA Soul was discovered on the shoulder of the road facing south on Delsea Drive (Route 47) with heavy damage to the front windshield and rear windshield.
Through a police investigation it was discovered that a deer entered the roadway causing the animal to travel through the passenger compartment and exit through the rear windshield. The driver, Karen Juliano age 63 of Lake Road, Newfield sustained fatal injuries as a result of the animal striking her during the crash. She was pronounced deceased on the scene. This crash is being investigated by Officer Austin Theuret of the Franklin Twp Police Department. Assisting on the scene was the NJ State Police, Malaga Fire Company, Gloucester County EMS and Inspira Paramedics.
