CONRAD WILLIAM ‘BUDDY’ DONNACHIE – Obituary
Conrad William “Buddy” Donnachie of Clayton on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Age 86. Husband of 66 years to Evelyn Ruth Donnachie (nee Boyd). Father of Rev. Brian Donnachie (Marianne) of Woodstown, NJ; Mrs. Celeste Gormley (Kenneth) of Williamston, NJ; Mr. Steven Donnachie (Deirdre) of Clayton, NJ; Rev. Vincent Donnachie (Christine) of Reading, PA; and the late William Roger Donnachie. Grandfather of Alyse, Amy, Sara, Ken, Zachary, Brianna, Neena, Daniel, Greta, Sean, Andrew, Evan, and Rachel. Great-grandfather of Kilian, Ronan, Kenny, Caleb, Levi, Adalynn, Michael, and Aurora. Brother of the late Julie Donnachie. Brother-in-law and uncle to many.
Born and raised in Saint Petersburg, FL; Buddy has been a resident of Clayton for the past 63 years. He worked as a truck driver for B&L Motor Freight in Lawnside for 25 years and later as a driving instructor for Canterbury School in Williamstown until his retirement in 1997. Buddy was a skilled computer programmer and builder beginning long before computers were part of our current everyday life. While not a gambler, he developed a program to handicap horse racing. Buddy was a gifted mechanic and handyman who could fix nearly anything that was fixable. He enjoyed camping, reading, and researching many different things to feed his very inquisitive mind. His family was the focus of his life, and his children and grandchildren remember him as a great storyteller sharing memories from throughout his life.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312 with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM.
