CANDLELIGHT TOURS OF HISTORIC WHITALL HOUSE – Gloucester County

Tour The Historic Whitall House In Candlelight

(National Park) –  Gloucester County residents can kick off the holiday season by attending the historic James and Ann Whitall House at Red Bank Battlefield Park’s annual candlelight tours this Friday, Dec. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 9 from 3 to 9 p.m. This season is an exciting way for families to come together and experience the lifestyle and holiday traditions of the colonial-era families that came before us. Experience a colonial Christmas not only in tradition, but in food as well by visiting our hearth cookers and the holiday feast they’ll be cooking up for visitors. Families will be able to see the Whitall House decorated in natural elements that the colonists would have incorporated into their seasonal decorating, such as pinecones, and other items that can be found around the area in forests, fields, meadows and riverbanks. The Candlelight Tour is a free event for all ages to attend and enjoy and is a service of the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders. The Whitall House is located in Red Bank Battlefield, at 100 Hessian Ave., National Park, NJ.
