Press Release from GCPO
Anthony Vanblarcom age 32, of Paulsboro, and his brother Lazzaro Vanblarcom age 33, also of Paulsboro, were sentenced on Friday February 2nd on weapons possession charges stemming from a shooting in the borough of Paulsboro on July 14th, 2017. In the shooting on Washington Street, Anthony Vanblarcom sustained a leg wound and another male had gunshot wounds to the ankle and hip. Several handguns were seized during executions of search warrants after the incident.
The Vanblarcoms pleaded guilty 12/1/17 to second-degree charges of unlawful possession of a weapon. Anthony entered pleas to two possession counts. In accordance with negotiated pleas, Superior Court Judge M. Christine Allen-Jackson sentenced Anthony Vanblarcom to six years in New Jersey state prison and Lazzaro Vanblarcom to seven years, saying imprisonment was necessary “for the adequate protection of society.” In the same incident, a charge of possession of a weapon by a convicted person is still pending against a third defendant, Dewayne Demby age 29, of Woodbury.
