Bettyanne Gambino, 63, of Upper Pittsgrove Township, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Cooper Hospital in Camden, surrounded by her loving family. Bettyanne was the mother of Victoria Gambino (Steven Dix) of West Deptford, Anthony Michael Gambino of Franklinville, and the late Kristen Marie Gambino, who passed away as a baby. She was the daughter of Julianne Bompensa (Orlando) of Franklinville and was also the cherished grandmother of Logan Gambino, Valencia Dix, Victoria Dix, Brooke Dix, Steven Dix, Faith Dix, and Abagail Dix. In addition, she is survived by her siblings, Stephanie Bompensa of Upper Pittsgrove Township and Orlando “Nicky” Bompensa, III of Vineland, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bettyanne was born in Woodbury on August 15, 1961, and raised in Clayton and Franklinville before moving to Upper Pittsgrove Township three years ago. A proud 1979 graduate of Delsea Regional High School, Bettyanne’s work history reflected her dedication and hard work. She began her career as a bank teller at Clayton National Bank from 1979 to 1995, later working as a cashier at K-Mart in Glassboro for one year, and then as a transfer specialist for RNS Marketing, later known as Procom, in Vineland for two years.
A lover of simple pleasures, Bettyanne enjoyed playing bingo, often attending games at Saint Catherine of Siena RC Church in Clayton or Saint Bridget RC Church in Glassboro. In her younger years, she had a passion for rollerskating at the Franklinville Skating Center. Bettyanne was also an avid bowler and participated in a league at the Playdrome Bowling Center in Turnersville. In recent times, she enjoyed passing the hours by playing games on her phone and engaging in relaxing activities like coloring by numbers.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Emerald Room at the Clayton Elks Lodge #2132, 350 S. Broad Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.
