BARBARA NANCY BATES – Obituary

Barbara Nancy Bates (nee Blackshire) of Williamstown on Sunday, June 10, 2018.  Age 82.  Wife of 60 years to Howard Bates.  Mother of Sandy (Russ) Stevenson of Sewell; Audrey (Gary) Dieffenderfer of Charlotte Hall, MD; Cynthia (David) Good of Wilmington, DE; and the late Karen (Eric of Quinton) Stalter.  Grandmother of 9.  Sister of Margaret (late Charles) Stewart of Waldorf, MD.  Daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (nee Farmer) Blackshire.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in the Mayfair Section, Barbara has been a resident of Williamstown for the past 45 years.  She was a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School and went on to attend Frankford Hospital School of Nursing.  Barbara worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement in 1998.  She was an avid quilter, enjoyed reading, and loved children and pets.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.  Graveside service to follow at the Cedar Green Cemetery, Clayton.  A luncheon will be held for family and friends at 1:00 PM in the Wedgewood Room at Masso’s Catering, 210 S.
