In a night-long investigation that demonstrated close cooperation between law enforcement agencies across county lines, a Brooklawn man has been arrested on attempted murder and related charges in connection with the shooting of a Maple Shade woman on Saturday (4/7), Gloucester County Prosecutor Charles Fiore announced.
Calvin L. Green age 40 was taken into custody without incident in an overnight motor vehicle stop in Brooklawn shortly before a search warrant was executed at his residence. He is charged with attempted murder; possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose; unlawful possession of a weapon; possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and making terroristic threats. He is being held pending a detention hearing in Superior Court, Woodbury.
It is alleged Green shot 41-year-old Dawn Clark four times during an argument in a vehicle parked at the Millstream Apartments in Washington Township, near the residence of the suspect’s brother. Green and Clark are longtime acquaintances.
Washington Township, Gloucester County police were dispatched to the Express Mart convenience store on Egg Harbor Road at 6:34 p.m. Saturday and found Dawn Clark there. She was transported to Cooper Medical Center in Camden where she was treated and released.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department (WTPD) and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s office (GCPO) began an investigation of the incident. Ms. Clark identified Green as the assailant and other evidence and witness interviews corroborated her account.
