ALBERT SALVATORE – Obituary

Albert Salvatore on Thursday, February 7, 2019.  Age 98.  Husband of 65 years to the late Doris V. Salvatore (nee Schmidt).  Father of the late Glenn Bradley Salvatore.  Brother of the late Anthony (Anna) Salvatore, Joseph (Josephine) Salvatore, Domenic (Gertrude) Salvatore, Mary (Vincent) DeSilverio, Fred (Esther) Salvatore, Amelia (Sam) Giordano, Rose (Tony) Morina, and Michael (Pauline, living) Salvatore.  Uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews all of whom he loved, but he was closest to those who lived in Franklinville: the loving Anthony and Joey Tonelli; Dana, Matt, and Julie DeCesari; and Donna, Nate, and Karl Taraska.  Son of the late Clementi & Concetta (nee Izzi) Salvatore.  Brother-in-law of the late Hazel (Jack) Winselar, Edna (Alfred) DeCesari, and Lorraine (Joseph) Tonelli-Schober.  Especially remembered are Brenda McCann who he called his “doll baby” and “his girls” Rhiannon and Melanie for all of the care and kindness that they exhibited to Uncle Albert on his journey through the last part of his life.
Born and raised in Paulsboro, Albert had been a resident of Franklinville for the past 70 years.  He was a 1939 graduate of Paulsboro High School and proudly served in the US Navy during World War II on the USS Saturn.  Albert was a Control Operator for Mobil Oil for 35+ years until his retirement in 1985.  He was a member of the Franklinville United Methodist Church and enjoyed golfing, woodworking, dancing (especially ballroom), bowling, and trying to fix things.  Albert loved spending time with his wife and family most of all.
Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside service on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 12:00 PM at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 240 N.
