SANDRA A. HEFFERON – Obituary

Sandra A. Hefferon, 79, of Vineland, New Jersey, known lovingly as Sandy or Sam, went home to be with her Lord on February 8, 2026, following heart failure due to a left anomalous coronary artery. She passed peacefully, surrounded by love, faith, and family.

Born January 27, 1947, in Camden, New Jersey, Sandy was the beloved daughter of Eldon and Carolyn M. Morgan, both deceased. She is survived by her husband, Michael Hefferon; her children, Natalie Jeanne Melchiore, Rebecca Susan Snyder (Harry), and Matthew Robert Hefferon (Lisa); her siblings, Dorothy Speiser, Ralph Morgan, and Keith Morgan; 4 stepchildren, Danielle, Michelle, Michael, and Ellie; and her cherished 17 grandchildren, Carolyn (Brett), Harry, Joseph, Lucas, Marc, Leighton, Ethan, Madison, Dylan, Maddi, Greg, Emma, Teddy, Keagan, Maddi Tanisha, Asher, and Noah, who affectionately know her as Grandma or “GaGa.”

Sandy’s life was a beautiful reflection of God’s promises and faithfulness. Who Sandy was and how she lived was guided by her deep and unwavering trust in the Lord. She taught Sunday School, studied nursing, served as a caregiver to adults with various special needs, and was a missionary to the Lakota Indian tribe in South Dakota. In each of these roles, Sandy’s compassion and genuine love for people preceded her, shone brightly, and left a lasting impact.

Creative, joyful, and generous to her core, Sandy’s life was filled with color and laughter. She found peace and inspiration among her beloved flowers, tending her gardens that seemed to mirror her own vibrant spirit. She brought that same joy to others—roller skating as a young woman dressed up as a clown named “Teapot” to bring cheer to hospital patients and nursing home residents, additionally leading Girl Scout troops and her son Matthew’s Scout den. Sandy was an artist in every form—writing, painting, singing, creating jewelry, and dancing. Together with her husband Michael, she was a talented country western dancer. Entering many competitions, they left many unforgettable memories on the dance floor.

Above all, Sandy loved deeply. As a wife, mother, sister, friend, and grandmother, she gave without measure. She prayed faithfully for those she loved, celebrated their triumphs, and walked beside them in their pain. Her hugs, her laughter, and her faith-filled counsel will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sandy’s roots and spirit connected her to both the New Jersey beaches and the Colorado Rocky Mountains. She was a devoted member of Faith Church in Loveland, Colorado, where she found great joy in worship and the community of fellowship. She lived life fully, sharing her testimony boldly, with God’s love as her guiding force.

In February 2025, after learning of her heart condition, she spent her last year sharing one final message with everyone she encountered—a message that defined her entire life: *Trust God implicitly.* She lived those words until the moment she crossed her finish line and received her crown from Jesus. She has left us with a legacy of unwavering faith, grace, and love.

Services will be Friday, February 27, 2026, at Ramoth Church, 2725 N. Delsea Drive, Vineland with visitation at 6pm followed by a service at 7pm. A memorial will be held in Colorado with the date to be determined. In lieu of flowers you can make donations to American Bible in Sandy’s name.
