It is with deep love and sorrow that the family of Ruth and John Pugh announces their passing. Ruth Pugh, age 92, on January 22, 2026, joining her beloved husband, John Pugh, age 92, on June 13, 2022.
Ruth was born and raised in Ravenswood, West Virginia. She graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1951 and completed business college in 1953. For the past 62 years, she made her home in Franklinville, New Jersey, where she and John raised their family and built a life rooted in love, hard work, and community.
John was born and raised in Roxborough, Pennsylvania. A dedicated machinist, he worked for over 30 years at DuPont Chemours Repauno before retiring. He was a man of quiet strength and unwavering commitment to his family.
After retiring, Ruth and John found great joy spending their summers at their beloved farm in Saint Marys, West Virginia. For 38 years, it served as a peaceful retreat where they could reconnect with nature, enjoy the quiet beauty of the hills, and savor time together away from the bustle of everyday life. When the seasons changed, they returned to Franklinville to escape the harsh winters, always bringing back fond memories of their time on the farm. They also shared a love of adventure as active members of the Old-Timer Wheelers Buggy Club, a four-wheeling group that gave them many years of fun, camaraderie, and cherished friendships.
They shared a devoted marriage of 60 years, an anniversary Ruth was especially grateful to celebrate. Their bond and commitment were evident in every chapter of their life together, from raising their children to enjoying retirement in the hills of West Virginia.
Ruth and John are lovingly remembered by their children Carol (Bob) Rambo, John (Bev) Pugh, Lynnda (late J.D.) Davis, Wenona (Bill) Mangini, Arlene “Pixie” (Ken) Tuller, and Sandy Renner. They are also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each one a source of pride and joy in their lives.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Interment to follow at the Porchtown Methodist Cemetery in Franklin Township. Sign the guestbook and send condolences at BarclayFuneralHome.net.
