PEDESTRIAN MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT

Franklin Twp – Malaga section (8/22/2020)

On Saturday, August 22nd at around 10:20 p.m., Franklin Twp Police were dispatched to the area of 461 Delsea Drive for a report of a pedestrian motor vehicle crash. It was also reported that the accused vehicle was no longer on the scene and was seen fleeing the area north bound on Delsea Drive.

Upon arrival, police found the victim, a 67 year-old male from Texas, lying in the roadway with serious injuries. The victim was then medi-vaced to Cooper Trauma Center and is currently in critical condition.

The driver was later arrested after police responded to a second motor vehicle crash involving one vehicle into a tree. An investigation on scene determined that it was the same vehicle involved in the pedestrian crash. The driver, a 47 year-old male from Delaware was charged with driving while intoxicated, assault by auto and various other charges.

The crash is being investigated by Officer Fennimore and Det. Alex Fragoso of the Franklin Twp Police Department. Also assisting at the scene were members of the Malaga Fire Department, Gloucester County EMS, Gloucester County Medics and Cooper Hospital Medivac Unit.
