NORA THERESA BUTCH – Obituary

Nora Theresa Butch (nee Reilly) on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.  Age 86 years. Wife of the late James R. Butch.  Mother of Eileen (Howard) Zeifman of Pembroke Pines, FL; Robert (Rose) Diamond of Marco Island, FL; Nancy (Junior) Brogan of Butler, KY; Kathy Hullihan of Vineland, NJ; James (Lisa) Butch of Clayton, NJ; and the late Patricia Baird.  Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Great-great-grandmother to many.  Daughter of the late George and Nora (nee Koch) Reilly.  Also survived by her dear friend Barbara Whitner of Clayton.
Born in Manhattan and raised in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, Nora was a resident of West New York, NJ and Bricktown, NJ before moving to Franklinville in 1979 and later to Clayton where she has resided for the past 30 years.  Nora worked as a bartender in West New York, NJ and Solowey’s in Franklinville.  Later she was the manager of the Cumberland Farms in Clayton but is probably most known from her 30 years as a waitress at the Liberty Diner in Clayton until her retirement in 2001.  Nora was a member of the Clayton Senior Citizens Club and of Senior Care in Washington Township.  She enjoyed bingo at Saint Catherine’s and going to the casinos.  Nora was also well-known for her white hair which she seemingly had forever.
