MARIE T. CLAPP – Obituary

Marie T. Clapp (nee DeLeo), age 76, of Williamstown traded Earth for heaven on July 28, 2020. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she later moved to South Jersey and attended Camden Catholic High School. Marie lived in Mt. Ephraim and met the love of her life at the wedding of a family friend. Soon after her marriage to Ralph, they moved to Williamstown in 1965 to start their family.  Marie worked several jobs throughout the years with some of her most memorable days spent at Bell Telephone, Strawbridge & Clothier, St. John’s Rectory in Paulsboro, and Saint Charles Borromeo in Sicklerville.  Marie was a long-time member and an active volunteer at St. Mary’s Parish in Williamstown.

Later in life, Marie learned about the Red Hat Society and led her own chapter for many years and she loved to plan outings and tea afternoons for women in purple dresses.Early mornings you would find Marie tending to her flower gardens, and in the evenings she would be crocheting.  She was a wonderful cook and an amazing baker who loved to entertain and deliver her goodies to her friends and neighbors near and far.

Marie was the wife of the late Ralph Clapp Sr. She is survived by two children, Ralph (Jennifer) Clapp Jr. of Bala Cynwyd, PA, and Marie (Ray) Blaser of Flemington, NJ; and four loving grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date.  Arrangements by Norton Funeral Home Williamstown, NJ
