Lois Barnabei (nee Lebold), 94, of the Forest Grove section of Franklin Twp passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 26, at home where she had been under the care of her family and hospice. Born and raised in Conshohocken Pa she moved to Vineland shortly after high school where she met & fell in love with the love of her life, Louis D Barnabei. They had been married 65 years when Lou passed away in June of 2012. She was the daughter of Ashton & Lottie (Clevenstine) Lebold.
Lois worked as a secretary for Kimble Glass for several years after arriving in Vineland but chose to be a homemaker after her children were born. She did however become the crossing guard for the Forest Grove Grammar School where she was loved by all the kids. Lois helped on the voting polls for over 50 years and will be remembered for her homemade soup she shared with all the other workers. She was a lifetime member of the 1st Baptist Church of Vineland and for the past 16 years was a member of Franklinville Baptist Church where she served on the hospitality committee, the Deaconess Board and was the treasurer of the Mission Board. She loved serving her Lord. She served on the PTA all the years her children were in school. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years as well as a girl scout leader.
More than anything Lois enjoyed her family. She was known by everyone for her delicious pies and loved knitting & crocheting. She spent hours canning & freezing foods from their garden. She shared her heart with many people, opening her home to those in need. She took in ironing for years to help others & financially supported many families & charities. Helping people was a way of life for her. She loved travelling and socializing with everyone she met.
She is survived by her 3 children: Virginia (David) Sadowski, Karen (Paul) McTamney & Ashton (Susan) Barnabei, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, her sister Lillie Bosler, a brother in law Albert Barnabei, a sister in law Margaret Jacobson as well as many nieces and nephews.
