LILLIAN BEATTIE – Obituary

Lillian Beattie, a longtime resident of Monroeville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026. She lived a beautiful 94 years!

To know Lil was to be loved by her. She had a gift for making everyone feel special and cared for, and she truly loved every person who crossed her path. Above all, however, her greatest love was for her family. Known as “Mom” to many, Lil welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and treated them as one of her own. We are all fortunate to have witnessed such a remarkable example of kindness, generosity, and unconditional love.

Lil not only loved deeply, but she also knew how to have fun. In her younger years, she enjoyed roller skating and creating happy memories with family and friends. Her love for children led her to work as a school bus aide for nearly ten years, a role she cherished.

After retiring from the school district, Lil and her husband, Jim, began working at Phillies games together. A devoted Phillies fan, she rarely missed a game and thoroughly enjoyed being part of the game-day experience. What started as a job became a passion, and she proudly continued working there for more than 15 years. It was something she truly loved and looked forward to each season.

Loving mother to Fred Stowman, Laurae Wilson & husband Gary, Richie Stowman and the late Howard, Bobby and Lil.

Beloved and best grandmother of Sabrina, Joey (Ginger), Shannon, JJ (Danielle), Freddie, Amber, Lindsey, Rhiannon, Danielle (Sam) and the late Michael. Proud great grandmother of 16 and great great grandmother of 1.

Family & friends are invited to Lillian’s viewing on Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ. Words of remembrance will be held at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at the Gloucester County Veteran’s Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ.
