Lewis A. Thibault Sr.
December 12, 1933 – April 22, 2025
Lewis A. Thibault Sr., age 91, of Franklinville, NJ, formerly of Clayton, passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2025. Born on December 12, 1933, Lewis was the son of the late Leslie and Camille (Locher) Thibault and was preceded in death by his brother Robert. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and was known for his steady, loving presence in the lives of all who knew him.
A true outdoorsman, Lewis enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time in nature. He had a lifelong passion for sports, particularly baseball. Lewis dedicated nearly four decades of his life to Bell Telephone as a respected lineman. He was also a proud volunteer firefighter and a committed Boy Scout leader.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Thibault, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Together, they left behind a legacy of love and dedication to their family.
Lewis is survived by his son, Lewis Thibault Jr., and his wife Barbara, along with their children: Kimberly (Thibault) Baez, and her husband Michael Jr., and their children Dante (preceded in death), Anthony, and Michael III, Kimberly’s mother Elaine; Tiffany (Thibault) Dudzinski and her husband David; Stephanie Hollywood; and Steve Davis Jr.
He is also survived by his daughter, Luann Barbagallo, and her husband John, and their children: Christina (Barbagallo) Applegate (preceded in death), and her husband James; John Barbagallo III; Michael Barbagallo and his wife Elizabeth, and their daughters Isabella and Charlotte, and Mackenzie Rose (preceded in death); and Joseph Barbagallo and his wife Candy (Shriver), and their children Sophia and Joseph Jr..
Lewis also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
A celebration of Lewis’s life will be held at Cedar Green Cemetery, Clayton on
June 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M.
