Lawrence J. (Larry) Nightlinger age 99 passed away Aug. 20. 2025 after a brief illness. of Weeki Wachee, Florida. He was born March 5, 1926, to William H. Nightlinger, Jr and Kathrine V. (nee Clark) in North Wildwood, NJ. When he was 10, his family moved to Vineland NJ. He graduated from Sacred Heart High school. He served in the US Army in WWII fighting in both the European and Pacific campaigns. Upon discharge, he received his BA from Elon University. June 1, 1957, he married Agnes L Sloan and moved to Williamstown NJ. In 1959 Larry, who was a Certified Public Accountant and a Registered Municipal Accountant, started and ran an accounting practice with his wife Agnes in Williamstown, NJ until retirement in 1985.
Larry and Agnes wintered in N. Fort Myers FL 1985 -1999. He moved to Weeki Wachee, FL in July 2022.
He is survived by his Sons Lawrence Jr. and Barry Sr. and grandchildren Greta Humphrey (Joshua), Lawrence III, John (Ashley), Barry Jr., great grandchildren Brett and Addison Humphrey and Katherine and Emmett Nightlinger, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife Agnes and his siblings Gertrude Thompson, Evelyn Teahan, William III, John and Leonard.
He is a member of VFW Post 1616 in Williamstown NJ, American Legion Post 133 in Woodbury NJ, former member and past president of the Williamstown Rotary Club. Larry was on the Board of Directors of Monroe Savings Bank for 37+ Years retiring in 2024.
Larry enjoyed traveling and time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, September 20th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary’s Church, 32 Carrol Ave., Williamstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Inurnment Brotherhood Cemetery, Williamstown.
