LAWRENCE ANTHONY NIEDZIALEK- Obituary

Lawrence Anthony Niedzialek of Pittsgrove Township on Thursday, October 6, 2022. Age 82. Husband of Eileen Karen Niedzialek (nee Martin). Father of Brian and Kelly and son-in-law Matt. Son of the late Lawrence Francis & Angela “Nellie” (nee Rychlicki) Niedzialek.

Born in Vineland and a lifelong resident of the Willow Grove section of Pittsgrove Township, Lawrence was a 1958 graduate of Vineland High School. He proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1961 to 1965 where he was an aircraft mechanic. As a 42-year employee of Acme Markets, Lawrence fulfilled several different management positions in stores throughout South Jersey, retiring from the Millville store in 2000.

Lawrence loved cars his whole life, owning his first, a Model A Ford, at age12 and driving through the neighborhood woods. In his youth, he enjoyed drag racing at Vineland Speedway and riding the Avenue. Later in life, Lawrence enjoyed restoring antique cars and winning national awards for his 1924 Model T Huckster Wagon and 1931 Model A Ford. He and his wife were members of several area car clubs including the South Jersey Region AACA, Back Road Cruisers, and Rollin T’s. Other hobbies included woodworking, stained glass creations, shooting pool, and traveling throughout the country with his family. Larry was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish in Franklinville.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, October 10, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the R.C. Church of the Nativity, 2677 Delsea Drive, Franklinville, NJ 08312. Funeral mass at 11:15 AM. Interment Willow Grove Methodist Cemetery, Pittsgrove. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Larry’s memory to the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing, 13100 SW 16th Avenue, Ocala, FL 34473 or to the American Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
