As of Thursday, October 8th Gloucester County has conducted 64,431 total tests. Of these cases, 59,482 have come back negative. One case has been moved out of county. As per state health guidelines, higher education confirmed cases of COVID 19 who live on or off campus are to be reported to the jurisdiction in which the college/university is located- not their home county. However, many individuals give their home address as this is what is associated with their health insurance. This can result in large number, one day spikes when cases are transferred from their home counties to the county where the college/university is located. However, the cases are already investigated and contact tracing is complete. Currently, Gloucester County Health Department is in the process of receiving and reporting cases that have been previously sent to other jurisdictions but belong in Gloucester County.
