FREDERICK ‘FRED’ E. BAUS – Obituary

Frederick “Fred” E. Baus on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.  Age 81.  Husband of 33 years to Theresa “Terry” Baus (nee Ranieri).  Father of Frederick A. “Freddie” (Cheryl) Baus, Eugene J. Baus, Carol (Raymond) LeBouef, Marc Baus, and the late Cecilia Baus.  Grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 8.  Brother of Joseph F. (late Jean) Baus and Peggy (Jim) Grasso.  Son of the late Joseph E. and Anna E. (nee Palmer) Baus.  Brother-in-law of Janice Griffiths, Marian Lillie, Joyce (Ben) Myers, and Angel Andrews.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in Collingdale, PA, Fred was a resident of National Park and Oak Valley before moving to Franklinville 36 years ago.  He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1954 to 1957 earning the rank of PFC.  After leaving the Army, Fred worked as a truck driver, initially driving for himself but later for Chemical Leaman Tank Lines for 30 years until his retirement in 2015.  Even after retirement, he continued to drive a dump truck or salt truck during the winters.
Fred was a founder and three-term president of the Tank Truck Workers Union.  He was a proud member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the Tennessee Squire Association.  Fred enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, traveling, woodworking, and making his own wine.  Between work and traveling, he has visited all 50 states in the country and regularly vacationed with Terry in Mexico.  His family recalls how he loved to putz around the home building and fixing things.
