DOROTHA MAE KENNEDY – Obituary

Dorotha Mae Kennedy (nee Cornelius) of Franklinville on Monday, August 7, 2017.  Age 92.  Wife of the late Sylvester J. Kennedy.  Longtime companion of the late John J. Suhovsky.  Mother of Celia Ann Volk of Sewell; James Sylvester Kennedy  of Clearwater, FL; and the late Robert Edward Kennedy.  Grandmother of 11, and Great-grandmother of 17.  Daughter of the late Robert and Rose (nee Smith) Cornelius.

Born in Prescott, AK and formerly of Clayton, Dorotha has been a resident of Franklinville since 1967.  She proudly served in the US Army Nurse Corp from 1941 through 1948 earning the rank of Captain.  Dorotha was a member of Saint Catherine of Siena RC Church in Clayton and a life member of the Franklinville VFH Post 2071 Auxiliary, a life member of the Clayton American Legion Post #179 Auxiliary, and a member of the American Legion Post #521 of Washington Township.  She served as vice-president of the Gold Star Wives, Inc., Holly Bush Chapter of the Mid-Atlantic Region and as president of the Marine Corp League Auxiliary in Vineland.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312.  Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM at Saint Catherine of Siena Church, 49 W.
