Agnes H. (née Hoppe) Considine, age 91, passed peacefully on March 21, 2025, in Pitman, NJ. She was the devoted wife for 47 years to the late Malvern D. Considine. Loving mother of Dr. Robert V. (Eileen) Considine of Carmel, IN; Paul G. (Mary Ann) Considine of Haddon Heights, NJ and Stephen P. (Nancy) Considine of Elk Township, NJ. Caring grandmother of Sean (Olivia), Gary, Allison, Samantha (Jeffrey), Michael (Alissa), Danielle, and Robert Jr.; and great-grandmother to Lucas and Maeve. Predeceased by her sister Gertrude Hoppe and brothers Robert Hoppe and Gerald Hoppe. Agnes is survived by her sisters-in-law Ann Hoppe, Harriet Hoppe and Blanche (James) Parente.
Agnes was born on April 2, 1933, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Robert and Anna (née Thor) Hoppe. Raised in Philadelphia, PA, her parents owned bakeries in both Philadelphia and South Jersey, where she learned the value of hard work and dedication. In 1963, Agnes and her family settled in Elk Township, NJ, where she resided for the remainder of her life.
A graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School, Agnes went on to attend the Franklin School of Science and Arts, where she trained as a medical technician. She worked for many years at hospitals in Salem and Woodbury, where her compassion and dedication touched many lives. Later, she served as the office manager at DePersia Medical Group until her retirement in the mid-1990s.
Outside of her professional life, Agnes was a faithful member of Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish in Glassboro, NJ. She was also the proud owner of Tannenwald’s German Shepherd Kennel, which she operated alongside her husband Malvern and sister Gertrude. As members of the American Kennel Club, they bred and showed German Shepherds across the country.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 500 Greentree Road, Glassboro, NJ 08028. Interment to follow at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Woodstown.
