On Sunday, May 18, 2025 the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit and Patrol Unit apprehended John Villari in the vicinity of the Glassboro/Williamstown Bicycle Trail. Villari had three active NCIC warrants for Violation of Probation, with original charges of 2nd Degree Resisting Arrest/Eluding out of the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office. A fugitive investigation was being conducted on the whereabouts of Villari by detectives of the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit when it was learned that Villari was living in a tent near where he was apprehended. A warrant attempt was conducted on May 18, 2025 at approximately 6:30 pm at that location. As officers approached the area, they were able to positively identify Villari riding his bike in their direction along the bicycle trail. Officers gave verbal commands for the subject to stop and that he was under arrest. Villari turned his bike around and attempted to flee the area in the opposite direction. Officers gave chase on foot through the wooded area and into a farm field. Villari was taken to the ground and continued to resist and not comply with officer’s commands. After a brief struggle Villari was taken into custody. Villari was ultimately remanded to the Salem County Jail.
